Choosing a hairstyle for your wedding can be a bit overwhelming. Have you ever considered doing a simple but stunning style on yourself instead? If you love DIY projects, then this wedding hair tutorial from Free People is perfect for you! They show you how to create a pretty lived in and effortless hairdo that you can do yourself. This tutorial only has a few steps so trust us, if we can do it...then you can too!
We like that this tutorial is super simple and easy to comprehend and you don't need any crazy braiding skills, tons of products and oodles of bobby pins either (woo hoo) so why not give it try? Try adding embellished flowers or hair accessories too. Just don't be surprised when your guests ask you for the name of the hair wizard who created your wedding hairstyle.
The beautiful hair model in the photos is also the very talented hairstylist Lindsey Pengelly who created this easy wedding hair tutorial. These are her fabulous instructions. Enjoy!
Step 1.
This look will work best with your hair already in loose curls, then part the hair into three sections, with a Mohawk section on top of your head. You can control how wide or narrow you would like the braid, just make sure your parting between the sections is very clean and smooth.
Step 2.
After parting your Mohawk section in the center, do a dutch braid (under over) as far back as you prefer, then tie the dutch braid with an elastic. Then, start pulling the braid to make it big and stand out!
Step 3.
Grab a section of hair on the side and do a normal three-strand braid, secure with an elastic and pull apart the braid to achieve the best, un-done look β you will want to make the braid as big as you can! Repeat step three on the opposite side of the head.
Step 4.
To end the braid, I took the two ends of both braids and circled them around each other to make a small bun, using bobbi pins to hold in place.
